1Sa 5:2-4 When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon. And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again. And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him. . 

Greetings in the name of the Lord..I am excited about what God is doing and I know its just the beginning.. As I was reading this week, God spoke to my spirit about idol gods. We think of idol gods as an image we set up and bow down to, but this is not the only idols we have..In the old testament we seen many times the children of israel went after false gods. They needed to see something..When the ark of God was taken from them and they did not see the glory in the camp then they would make them other god, or serve the gods the ones who had them in bondage served.. I love this scripture because as I was studying the Lord said that we many times set up idols in our lives...We are to be filled with the spirit of God, just as the ark of God represented the spirit of God..We think we can do as the philitines did and bring our idols and set them up next to the spirit of God and nothing will happen..But we see they tried to set the ark of God up in the house of their god, dagon, thinking nothing would happen..We see that when they came back it was on its face before the ark, and just like us, they set it back up..But when they came back the next day it was upon the ground and its head and hands were broken off and all that was left was the stump. We think we can set things up next to our God, sometimes they even take the place of our prayer life, or our reading the bible..We go fishing, hunting, on Sun. and think nothing about it..We play games, watch tv, look at a computer all day long, thinking nothing about it.. As I seen, we have tvs, computers, boats,homes,cars, anything we spend more time with than God, and we set it up next to the Spirit of God..We need to be careful, we may wake up like Samson and not even know the Spirit has left us, and all that is there is that idol god we have set up...Ye cannot serve two Gods, you will love one and hate the other..ye cannot serve God and mammon.. We must put God first in our lives if we want him to stay..He will not stay where he is not wanted..Let us check ourselves and see if we have set up idols in our life...and then GET them out.. If we dont he will utterly destroy it, and where will we stand then... May God richly bless all of you .... Sis Betty
